This piece was commissioned by Art Director and Illustrator Gab K De Jesus. The illustrations is the header for a blog piece he wrote about the journey of the creative career. When he reached out to me he already had the concept in mind for the lighthouse beaming light through the darkness, symbolizing hope in the midst of uncertainty.
Process
TIGHT SKETCHES
I wanted to remain true to the initial idea of the AD, but also adding it a twist of my own. I added crashing waves to represent the turmoil one can feel when walking through the unknown.
Collaborating with Gab was a great experience, as we communicated with one another, he pushed me to do better.
The final piece captures the sentiment of hope and guidance, even through dark times.
